I had not heard from a regular guest creator Daubster in some time but he reached out this week and even had a photo comic he wanted to share! I'm thrilled to share with you his latest and I think best photo comic effort to date: Bat vs Super Part 2. I know it says Part 2 but I think this story stands on its own just even without Part 1. It features Emma, Marry, and Shelly in a great story that has something for everyone. I hope you'll support Daubster and encourage him to continue to produce new material!
Bat Vs Super Part 2
Beloved regular guest creator Daubster brings us part 2 of his fantastic photo comics with a 43 page photo comic featuring Mary, Shelly, and Emma! Wow! A mentor gains powers and takes to the skies, a deadly double trap is sprung by a sinister villain, and dark hero comes to help! In addition to 43 action packed graphic novel style panels Daubster gives us 20 extra behind the scenes full size photos manipulations or great wallpaper material.
Daubster went all out on this story and put a lot of effort into working with three models and then doing these images, it has something for every fan, and it does standalone if you do not have part one. I am so glad to have his work, and this work in particular shines, on this webpage.
It has been too long, right?! Let's get you up to speed on what I've been able to do with ProjectSuperWoman content!
This summer and early fall (northern hemisphere) I did a second part of a video shoot with Mersadees. We were not able to finish what I had hoped in one day but were able to find a second time to film so the story would not be short changed before it got cold!
I struggled early on to get the draft edit done because there was a lot of footage to figure out how to stitch together into a coherent story and it wasn't working out. The third effort worked well! Then after loosing momentum I set a goal to just do one SFX scene each night.
I just finished the special effects and work on tightening up the edit. I'll be working on sound, bonus footage, and titles next. As a result, it will not be another 4-6 months before this gets released!
I'm looking forward to releasing this one ~ it certainly has some "firsts" in the genre and the bonus footage is a lot of fun.
In early fall I was also was able to do a video shoot with Bella and a few friends that was an almost full day of filming. The shoot was not as big as "Lost Souls" which was a two day shoot but I really like how it came together. I'll work on the SFX for the Bella video after I get the Mersadees video released.
When will I film again? I hope to do some stuff this spring. There are plenty of story ideas. I have no specifics yet with so much in motion. I know Bella, Michaela, and Mersadees are willing ~ and Ashley is a long shot possibility too. I'm the bottle neck. Right now my focus is working through the footage I have!
I've been learning some new tricks too. Shooting in the dark with an "older" video camera meant there was some digital noise but thanks to your support I was able to license and learn some software that does a nice job cleaning it up. I've also been learning more about how to balance out sound correctly and more cinematic style editing. I've also been looking at a new camera and editing system to bump up PSW's video quality. I'm still thinking about that cost/benefit. More models and casts, smaller casts but longer stories, or higher quality visuals of the cast is always a balance I'm trying to find. I'd love to hear your thoughts bellow!
Everyone on team PSW I'm aware of has stayed physically healthy and has avoided getting sick (or at least having any symptoms). I've also been fortunate but busy so far ~ time management is always a work in progress.
Thank-you as always for your support.
Many have been asking for it so I have good news: I got to do some video filming with Mersadees this last week!
Just a quick promo video to introduce Mersadees!
Introducing Mercadees Adell in an action packed thirteen page 30 image live action Graphic Novel “Super Mercadess: Crisis In The Hills!”
I've done two photo shoots with Mercadees already and have one more planned so you'll be seeing more of her in the near future. She's really enjoyed the shoots and has been great to work with. She's got some special skills I'm *really* looking forward to utilizing in a story I'm planning too. She's eager to do it so I'm thrilled. More soon I hope you enjoy this release!
New Release: Mary Bella PHotoset!
We have a new release and a new costume for May! I hope you've seen the teaser image already of the new costume but now it's available in living color. Like last time I'm releasing two sets. The regular one includes all the best images. The "supporter level" includes the same best images, plus a bunch of extras, and several photo manipulation edits. I hope everyone enjoys this one! It was fun to shoot, the costume turned out far better than I expected, and Bella sells the character!
The poll from my last blog post was split in half between those who just wanted me to release what I had right away and those who wanted a few more manipulations added to the set. Some also commented they would buy both if I staggered the release. While I appreciate that offer of support I didn't feel right doing that so I went ahead and did the extra manipulations.
There were also some people that prefer videos (I do too!!!) So what about videos? I don't have any shot I can edit at the moment. I was waiting for warmer weather then the pandemic hit. So let's talk about each active actress:
Ashley: Unfortunately Ashley was not able to travel in April like she wanted so we could not shoot. We'll see what happens as things open up. We don't have anything specific scheduled right now but she's going to reach out when she has plans.
Michaela: We had filming scheduled and a flight booked in early June but complications from the pandemic and life in general made things difficult so we had to indefinitely postpone that. I now have a credit in her name only on a major airline so you can expect I'll try to find a new time! Ha! I think Michaela was really excited about her physical "gains" and was enthusiastic to share them in costume and character but the gym shutdowns and stresses of the pandemic hit hard. I know she'll bounce back - she's always super.
Bella: We had plans to film again taking precautions but then a state wide "stay at home unless essential" order came down from the Governor the Friday before the weekend we were going to shoot. We did the right thing and respected the order. We spoke early this week and plan to give it two weeks to see how things go now that things are opening back up before we open back up our "circles."
I'm also keeping an eye out for new heroines.
PSW Payment Processor is now "Square"
I have migrated away from Paypal to Square as PSW's payment processor. This has made the checkout process much shorter with less pop ups and redirects. Part of why the last photo set took so long was that my free time was burned up struggling with a Paypal bug that was causing a lot of people to enter all their info only for the order not to be processed. I was done with being on hold with the two parties involved in a back and forth so here we are. If you have any problems please let me know!
Thanks to you! Your support makes all this possible!
I have two photo sets I've been doing some photo manipulations for. What I'm struggling with is how many manips to do before I release the sets. Right now each set has 90-100 images and 4-5 photo-manipulations to go with each. What do you think:
The Evil Bella Photoshoot was mostly photo focused but I did sneak in some video for the jail break mini and also had a camera running for some behind the scenes footage like this. The video camera angle was not idea but it's still fun to share.
Next up is probably a peek at the other theme we did during this shoot. I've got two photo manipulations done for that photo set and five manipulations for a Bella as Mindy Marvel photo set. I'd like to have several more done before I release the two sets.
Bella and I had planned to shoot again today - something more uplifting and fun. We had plans to not touch the bagged uniforms and stay six feet part but over the weekend a tighter distancing order came down from the state governor that we decided to take to the letter. We'll see what the coming weeks bring. Stay or get well everyone!
